Through early failures in Culturing JADAM Microorganism Solution (JMS), they adjusted the mixing ratio of sea salt, leaf mold soil, and potato starch. By repeatedly culturing using leftover microbial sediment, they succeeded in drastically reducing the culturing time. The method of continuously culturing without washing the container and doubling the amount of leaf mold soil and potato starch showed a great effect in speeding up the culturing rate.
When they first tried culturing JMS, they started around evening. It was not ready even after 48 hours, so they dumped it all out and started over. During the second attempt, they added 500g of sea salt to 500L of water. They doubled the amount of leaf mold soil and potato starch to 1kg each. They heated it, and the culture was finished in 30 hours.
Someone mentioned leftover microbial sediment. So for the third attempt, they did not clean the container used for the second batch. They added another 500g of sea salt, 1kg of leaf mold soil, and 1kg of potato starch to the leftover microbial sediment. The time was significantly shortened, and the culture was finished in just 11 hours.
Some might suspect that it was not fully cultured. They might think the foam from the leftover microbial sediment caused an optical illusion. However, the initial foam almost disappeared while the water was heating up. After 8 hours of culturing, foam started to form around the coil heater. Seeing the entire container fill with foam in 11 hours confirmed that it was properly cultured.
They were able to reduce the culturing time by repeating this up to four times without cleaning the container, simply doubling the amount of leaf mold soil and potato starch. Adding Heuksali compost (organic compost) and molasses also helps to cut down the culturing time.
