Gyeong-seop Choi directly confirmed the potential of sustainable agriculture by achieving a successful harvest through the no-till farming method last year. This year, he has already finished adding crop residues, applying compost, and drenching with JADAM Microorganism Solution (JMS) before planting. In particular, he established a pest control system based on JADAM Microbial Pesticide (JMP), creating a proactive defense mechanism before pests occur. This introduces a farming site that drastically reduces pesticide costs, realizes the simplification of farming, and produces healthy food through the low-cost, high-efficiency JADAM organic farming method.
When he first attempted no-till farming last year, he wondered if it would really work, but the farming was successful without any issues. Preparing for no-till farming again this year, he left the chili pepper residues in the furrows as they were in February and applied 12 bags of organic compost to the ≈ 0.12 acre greenhouse. After making the ridges by turning the soil in the furrows once with a cultivator, he drenched the soil thoroughly with JMS twice. He plans to drench it about two more times before planting the chili peppers in mid-April, which means a total of four JMS drenches will be applied before planting.
He cultures JMS regularly once a week. When drenching JMS, adding a small amount of liquid fertilizer, such as fish liquid fertilizer or bone meal liquid fertilizer, at about 300 mL per 500 L ensures there is no lack of nutrients. He makes JMP once a month. Preparing one 500 L batch lasts for a month, which costs no money and simplifies the farming work, allowing him to farm with physical and mental ease.
After planting chili peppers or onions, he begins pest control once every 5 days. Initially applying it every 5 days and later just once a week, controlling pests with JMP alone ensures successful farming without worrying about diseases or insects. He uses JMP as the base for pesticides. Only occasionally during mid-summer when pest pressures are high, he applies JMP.S, which is made by adding JADAM Sulfur (JS) to JMP. This approach effectively keeps pests in check, making farming simple and easy.
