My set up of a fungal compost, going on for couple of months now. It’s decomposition is happening through mycelium rather then heat it is very fascinating. I don’t turn it, I let the mycelia to take over the pile. I also used aged leaf litter with brings in more fungal and earthworms . I also add aged soft wood chip which has already been decomposed by insects and microbes. The main ingredient is the Ramial wood chip to let the air flow making it aerobic and fungal reaction to happen. I want capture the nutrient value of the ramial chip when it is fully decomposed.
