The predatory mite can help to stably reduce the density of Tripidae. It is easy to breed huge amount so the price is less. Moreover, it is possible to release in volume. Before Amblyseius swirskii was developed in early 2000, Predatory mite was important of the natural enemy of Tripidae for biological control like Orius laevigatus.

О Scientific name : Neoseiulus(Amblyseius) cucumeris (Oudemans)
О English name : Predatory mite
О Size : The body length is less than 0.4mm
О Hosts : Thrips palmi, western flower thrips, flower thrips (Tripidae) and, the different kind of mites, The food for Predatory mites when you raise them: Tyrophagus putrescentiae
О Distribution : All of the world (introduced predator)

Predatory mite's stages of development are the egg, larva, early-instar nymph, late-instar nymph, and adult. It spawns on the behind of leaf, midrib or side vein. The stages of development from eggs to adults, it takes only 6 to 9 days at 25℃. Moreover, the insect spawns around two eggs a day and it is assumed 40 to 50 eggs within 20 days.
 
They eat 2 to 3 mulberry thrips a day. Generally, they eat young mulberry thrips larvae (1st instar and 2nd instar) and eggs.

Predatory mite nymph

You can use predatory mite to control palm thrips or western flower thrips on cucumber, green pepper, eggplant, and flowers which are in a greenhouse. Before Thripidae appears or when the density of Thripidae is low, you can spread predatory mite or hang paper bags, inside with predatory mite, on the crops.
