Mr. Oh's orchard is very steep because it has carved out a mountain. Moving around on the 17 ac farm with places with 40 degrees slope is not easy. Monorail was brought in to move compost and fruits across the field. It cost $150K to install it 7 years ago, but half was on government grant.
Mr. Oh's orchard needs 600 bags of compost and produces 2,000 container volume of fruits. Imagine carrying that with human labor. The cost is just too much. That's why Mr. Oh says although initial investment in monorail is quite expensive, you can soon get the bang for your buck.
