Durian rinds (shell/husk) JLF
2023-07-16 20:52:26 | read: 3768
Dear sir,

We have access to huge amount of durian rinds after every harvesting season & after reading your book on balanced farming philosophy, we may start JLF with these waste. Hopefully by 6-12 mths, it can compliment our farming regimes & bring reductions on the farming costs.

Durian farming is a heavily applied foliar feeding program especially from budding until harvest phases in terms of fertilization and pest control.

We know that the amount of nutrients are packed in these rinds especially+60% are waste after arils are eaten.

JLF will be a game changer if the juice can be recycled after every season.

PS: any durian farmer practised JLF before? It would be grateful for your feedback.

Thanks.

How much hormone will be retained in the FPJ with skins/rinds usually? We don't want the young trees to be affected by the matured skins FPJ. TQ

Tq sir for your quick response.
Laying the durian skins is a good idea but most of our trees are still young(< 6 mths old). That's why we want to FPJ most of the skins.
And make use of the drip irrigation injectors to spread. Worried also on blockage of emitters if not filtered properly.
We don't need to make a lot as the usage is small & we can FPJ as we run out. We irrigate water every 2-3 days for now, slow drip for 1-2 hrs every cycle.

JLF made from durian shells provides optimal nutrition for growing durians. I think it can be diluted 20 times or more and used throughout the growing season.

It would take a lot of bowls and labor to make and use the durian skins that occur so much in JLF. If possible, I think the method of laying under the durian tree can be considered.
