In the book it says don’t use sea salt on small gardens/farms because there is enough sea salt in the JMS. However, shouldn’t this also be based on dilution rate of the JMS and not just farm size? I realize that smaller farms will usually dilute JMS less and larger farms will usually dilute more, but there are exceptions, right?
For example, I have a garden (1000 sq ft), but I use a drip irrigation injector that automatically dilutes around 1:100. (In the book it says 1:10-1:1000 is suitable for JMS) Since the sea salt in the JMS is already diluted 1:1000 (1g/1L), then the sea salt becomes 1:100,000 (.01g/1L) when irrigating JMS with my injector’s dilution.
Am I correct in thinking this is not enough sea salt? I usually add some sea salt to the injector (once or twice per month) to make it closer to 1:1000 (1g/1L) in the end. Is this correct?
JMS 500L contains 500g of salt, which can be diluted and used for 1/4 to 8 acres. If the area is about 1/4 acre, 500g of salt is sufficient; if the area is larger, add 500g of salt per 1/4 acre. JMS Determines the amount of salt used based on area, not dilution.

My area is approximately .025 acres so even if I make only 50L JMS, I cannot irrigate that much JMS without overwatering. My drip injector dilutes at 1:100 so 50L JMS would make 5,000L of total irrigated water. That would overwater the plants in my small space.
So I make even less JMS than that. I use only about 10L JMS at 1:100 before my soil is sufficiently watered. So only about 10g of sea salt is used, even though my garden should get 50g based on the numbers you provided.

Does this mean I should add more sea salt even though I have a small garden?

If I had a 1:10 injector that is exactly what I would do.
I cannot find an injector that will work that way.

I apologize for all the extra questions
50g is not even close to 1% of my harvest
When do you use the 1% rule for sea salt?
Jack Mueth2022-08-18 09:18:48
Okay so I will scatter the remaining salt directly on the soil since I can only irrigate JMS at 1:100

I can use 1% of the harvest to calculate the salt for very productive fruiting crops like melons and tomatoes? This will end up being much more sea salt, can I do this without causing problems?
