I planted comfrey in two different places the comfrey in JMS treatment soil had very thick leaves but did not flower still. The comfrey planted in mulch with bio-char, lichen, reishi, moss, coconut husk, frogs habitat, mycelium and Saprotrophic fungal. It looked like it flowered very fast but had thin leaves right after flowering it died. Why it died so fast when it planted in mulch? The two environment gave two different growing habitat, I don’t know what is the best. W he at is JADAM opinion on this matter?
The reason the plant in the mulch flowered so fast is because the stress of low nutrients caused it to go into reproduction. It died soon after for the same reason. Similarly, a stressed tomato plant might produce fruit faster than a happy tomato plant, but the happy tomato plant will usually live longer.

Microbes need nutrients to break down the mulch. That’s why in JADAM mulch (aka unfermented compost) is added in the autumn, or several months before planting. Finished (aka fermented) compost may be added a few weeks before planting instead.
