I have an issue with Tipulidae larvea, especially in Spring. I am a lettuce farmer and they are quite destructive. This year I lost about 35% of my crop. They mature by June/July so are not an issue then but from April to June they are quite active and destructive. Is there any solution you may have for this?
Yes. The larvea of the Crane Fly is very problematic for us in lettuce production. They lay their eggs in August and September and the eggs hatch over the winter months. In spring they eat the roots of the lettuce and cause significant damage.
