Normally farmers plant leeks in late March, but Mr. Jeong transplanted them on Jul 21. Nobody does double-cropping for leeks but Mr. Jeong is confident that it is possible after 4 years of experiment and success.

After harvesting leeks in winter, he plants wheat or barley on Feb 24. After harvesting the cereals, he plants his second leeks. Wheat is not as good as barley because if they receive rain, seeds will sprout while still hanging in the ear. If you plant barley for your rotation crop, you can plant leeks earlier - in June.

Mr. Jeong clearly remembers that when he was a child, he planted leeks in school's summer break. That must have been August. If you plant leeks early, there is more work. More chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, and manpower. That's all cost. Yield is not substantially different either.

Mr. Jeong mainly uses Jadam microorganism solution (JMS), Korean pasque flower root Jadam herbal solution (KPFR-JHS), Jadam wetting agent (JWA), and Jadam sulfur (JS).
