Raised bed vs raised ground

Dear Master Cho,

When do we plant on raised beds vs raised ground? Do they differ according to the type of plants we are going to plant? Can a 20cm height raised bed using Aerated Lightweight Concrete be considered a good enough bed?

      Almost any crop can be planted on a 20 cm high bed. We are preparing a book that guides many people to do organic gardening easily. thank you!
