I would like to control Spotted Lanternfly. The book says that I can use gingko or oleander. I do not have access to either of these herbs.
I combed through your herb book for herbs I have access to. Most of the herbs do not mention which pests they can be used on. Is this a matter of experimenting personally to discover where they will work?
I have easy access to Princess Tree, Datura, Pokeweed, Mugwort, and Japanese Knotweed. Will any of these work as an effective substitute?
Thanks for pointing out the shortcomings of the 100 herbs book. We will improve it in the next version. 100 herbs Almost all plants produced are effective against aphids and mites.
Using Pokeweed to control moths is effective. However, it is difficult to control the Spotted Lanternfly with this. If suitable herbs are not available, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and fine soil can be used instead. (40~60g based on 20L)
I recently published a detailed book on pest control. Thank you.
