The body length of non-winged female adult is around 1.5mm or less. You can see glossy black on their body. The cowpea aphid nymph is reddish brown and covered white powder.

They live together on new branch and suck its juice. Therefore, the growth of damaged branch slows down. The non-winged females stay over the coldest season as an adult. The population of non-winged female and winged female are high. The adults and nymphs appear from spring to fall.
