The body length of pear lace bug is 3~3.5 mm. The adult's front wings have retiform nervure and those are translucent. When the insect folds the wings, you can see the black spotted pattern on the wings and it looks like a shield. The bug's head is small and brown and it has pop compound eyes. Moreover, its body lower part is black and the legs are yellow.

It appears 3~4 times a year and stays over the coldest as an adult on the weed, fallen leaves, and the lower part of the stem. From early to middle of May, the pear lace bug spawns on the midrib or inside tissue following the 1st vein and it covers the eggs with its brown secretion.
