Asparagus grows for about 15 years. That makes it absolutely crucial to set up the farm perfectly BEFORE you begin. Important jobs are: drainage, soil management, fertility, pest/disease control. Asparagus likes and also dislikes water. You should water it but it should drain fast. Mr. Lim has sprinkler, fountain-type hose, and drip irrigation and uses whatever is best at that situation.
  For the soil, Mr. Lim makes liquid fertilizer with asparagus residue, EM microbes, and molasses. He runs it through the irrigation. If you are faithful to the basics, farming becomes easy, if not, it's difficult and costly. You can't make money like that.
