Apply undiluted sea water before planting to control white grubsSukjin Oh, Jeju, cabbage, carrot, beet, etc. 4 ac, 6 years of organic farming
Cabbages in Jeju are transplanted in September and harvested in December. The soil will grow cover crops of barley and rye which will be tilled into the soil before transplanting cabbage. This farmer puts charcoal into the soil.

Aphids on cabbage can be controlled with 5 liters of JWA, 5 L of sunchoke JHS mixed with water to make 500 liters. Mr. Oh's special skill is in applying 6,300 liters of undiluted sea water per acre to control white grubs. The reduction in grub damage is evident. Keep applying sea water during growth too in about 200 times dilution.
