Good-bye Planthoppers and Mealybugs with Jadam Wetting AgentMr. Sengkwan Choi, a Ginseng organic farmer from Anseong (80 ac, 7 years)

Planthoppers are especially rampant this year. Anseong area suffered particularly big damage. Korea Organic Ginseng farmer's coop used Jadam wetting agent, Jadam sulfur, and Jadam herbal solution made from Korea pasque flower root -- and were quite successful. Mealybug is another pest in organic ginseng but this was also successfully controlled by Jadam methods.

Planthoppers cause such serious damage that the local government provides the farmers with a variety of pesticides. Farmers say that the pesticides were not so effective. However, interestingly, when farmers mixed Jadam wetting agent into that pesticide, they'd see a drastic increase in efficacy. Observers said that the insects don't seem to die from ingesting the chemical but rather from being coated with the pesticide. That is exactly what Jadam wetting agent does; it "wets" the target.
